EAT THE RICH
A BRAND REVOLUTIONIZING PASTRY

“Eat The Rich” is known as a political slogan challenging wealth inequality, but it was utilized by Johnson & Wales alumni Vanessa Nowicki as the name of her personal brand and baking portfolio. After graduating, Vanessa was looking to give her brand a visual identity and hired me to bring her ideas to life. The client wanted her brand to be seen as an extension of herself, encompassing her temerity and representing her feminine side. There were many emotions asked to be incorporated into this brand, all while communicating that Vanessa is a pastry chef.
A wine red was chosen to evoke feelings of hunger and passion, along with a high contrast font pairing that would appear both graceful and bold, like the chef. This project later grew to encompass business cards and brand photography (more in Vanessa's brand session). The result of this collaboration is a cohesive brand with attitude.
